The Board of Retirement directed by Ray Lewis maintains a qualified pension plan that provides retirement income for church employees. The staff achieves this objective through the following functions.

• Receives and administers pension funds.
• Administers retirement annuity funds. 
• Serves pastors, ministers, missionaries, all employees of church, state, and national ministries. 
• Enrolls employees for membership.
• Enlists churches to participate with their pastor and employees.
• Provides life insurance coverage.
• Offers preretirement planning.
• Advocates adequate support for all church and denominational employees.
• Ministers to annuitants and their spouses.
• Finances church building and expansion programs through first mortgage loans.
• Encourages district and state associations to contribute to pastors' retirement funds.
• Works with Christian Schools in retirement planning for teachers and administrators.
• Distributes motivational and resource materials for effective retirement living.
• Writes and publishes promotional and educational materials.
