impact birmingham - JULY 15, 2006

This summer, Free Will Baptists from around the nation will gather in Birmingham, AL, for the annual convention. This year, however, some convention attendees are arriving a day early to take part in a historic outreach effort called Impact Birmingham. The event will team up volunteers from across the denomination with churches and ministries in and around Birmingham for the purpose of changing the city with the Gospel of Christ.

That's where YOU come in! Impact Birmingham is now accepting volunteers. Outreach efforts will take place in three categories:

  • Door-to-door Evangelism - Teams of three will take to the streets to present the Gospel from home to home in Birmingham neighborhoods. Using a simple church-related survey to initiate conversations, each team will present the plan of salvation in terms anyone can understand...or present!

  • Prayer Walks - While some teams go door to door and others provide services to the homebound, still other teams will concentrate on praying for the city, for the convention, and for the specific outreach efforts of Impact Birmingham.

  • Service Opportunities - From repairing the porch of a senior saint to brightening a worn church building with a fresh coat of paint, opportunities to minister to the people of Birmingham are everywhere. Scroll down the list below to find an opportunity just for you!
