Leadership comes in all forms and sizes, but the results are the same. Leaders influence behavior and make a difference in people’s lives. Profiling leaders shows a diverse combination of traits, but impacting lives is always a common theme.

Leader Profile: Paul Keener, Ohio

Retired…but who can tell? Paul and his wife Sue have raised four kids who serve God faithfully and are raising 15 godly grandchildren. Paul worked for AT&T/Lucent Technologies for 34 years. He served as a draftsman in the engineering field and moved up to quality analyst. He felt the call of God on his life to become a minister and pastored for 11 years.

For the last five years, Paul’s ministry has been managing a bookstore for Ohio Free Will Baptists. Paul sees his role as equipping pastors with resources to help them develop an effective model of discipleship and spiritual formation.

Paul travels to associations and churches leading seminars and preaching the value of being a Deuteronomy 6 (D6) church. His life has modeled this philosophy, and it shows in his heritage. Paul is devoted to his wife and children and grandkids.

Paul spends time in his prayer journal each morning calling out items on his list. He uses Fusion to stay connected to the family theme, even though his kids are grown. Paul reads from his chronological Bible for and hour to an hour and a half every day.

He and his wife frequently go to Amish country for an overnight getaway. (He programs his GPS for the back roads to take in the most scenic route.)
