Master's Men establishes a Free Will Baptist emergency response team.

by Ken Akers, Director, Master's Men

In response to several seasons of frequent hurricanes and other natural disasters, Master’s Men is organizing a Disaster Response Team. Volunteers in this group will give of their time and abilities to aid Free Will Baptist churches damaged by natural disasters such as hurricanes, flooding, or tornados. While not a building crew for general construction, the disaster relief team will repair damaged church buildings to enable congregations to return quickly to worshiping in their own buildings.

Thanks to the Master’s Men Group of First Free Will Baptist Church in Red Bay, Alabama, Master’s Men now has a heavy-duty, fourteen-foot trailer. This trailer will enable volunteers to haul tools and supplies to a disaster site. Master’s Men has also purchased a Ford Super Duty truck equipped with a fully enclosed work bed to pull the trailer.

We Need Your Help!

  • Volunteers
We need volunteers. If you can help with relief efforts (men and women), please contact us. We will add your name to our database and contact you when the need arises.

  • Equipment
Our vehicles need to be equipped with tools to handle the work at disaster areas. Hammers, saws, large push brooms, shovels, and other small hand tools are necessary items. Larger items like chain saws, generators, power washers, and ladders (step and extension) are also needed.

  • Donations
An Emergency Relief Fund has been established to cover the costs of fuel, insurance, and other expenses. To contribute to Master’s Men disaster relief efforts, contact David Brown at The Free Will Baptist Foundation: (877) 336-7575.

In addition, Master’s Men is looking for donors to help repay the loan acquired to purchase the truck. Contributions are deeply appreciated! Names of donors who give $100 (or more) will be listed on the truck as friends of the Master’s Men Disaster Response Team.

  • Prayer
Please pray for this new venture and ask God what you can do to help.
