2006 clear teacher of the year

Reaad more about CLEAR Sunday School Curriculum at www.randallhouse.com.

PASTOR BARRY REEL RECENTLY NOMINATED “a Sunday School teacher in our church who has displayed the most outstanding attitude toward her class and her lessons. She is using the CLEAR material with great success. She is also known around here as the ‘Pied Piper’—kids follow her wherever she goes; she displays love, caring, and compassion to them all.”

The 2006 CLEAR Teacher of the Year teaches children in grades one through four at Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Carrollton, Virginia.

Church members have watched in amazement as she teaches her class faithfully and without complaint despite suffering from a rare, incurable lung disorder. Due to her health she had to quit her job as a nurse although she is only 50.

Relying upon oxygen full time hasn’t hindered her church attendance. She wears her portable tank to church even though the pump squeaks and makes a great deal of noise. She cheerfully attends almost every service. She also helps with the nursery, children’s church, the Christmas play, and Vacation Bible School. She even caters some of the church fellowship meals!

Her students know their teacher will die soon. She has been very open with them, telling them one day when they come to class she will not be there. She reminds them that no matter what, they need to be in Sunday School and church. She is training her assistant to take over her class.

“I cannot tell you what this woman has done in our church! I have taught Sunday School, worked in many ministry situations, and I have never seen anyone as dedicated as this. She will teach her class as long as she is able (even in a wheel chair),” observed Pastor Reel.

Congratulations to “Kiki” Hill, 2006 CLEAR Teacher of the Year.
